I can remember years ago I use to hate Sundays. They were usually quite boring and very lonely. In fact there was a group called “Blue Suede” that had a hit song titled “Lonely Sunday Afternoon.” Well today was not a typical Sunday for me. It was anything but lonely and full on rich blessings at every turn. So today Jeanne was singing a cantata at church and I acted like I wasn’t going. I hurried abound and did show up. She was so glad to see me there. They did a beautiful job and it was a wonderful service. (camera info – Nikon D700 ISO 1600, manual mode shutter 80 @ F2.8 Nikon 24-70mm F-2.8 lens.)
So that was the early service and she had to sing again at 10:45. Well I had done my spousal thing so I texted Angie to see if I could stop by and see Josh. I got there about 10:00 am But before I did I had to stop and shoot the American Gothic that is on display down town. Pretty neat display.
When I got to Angie and Ben’s place Josh was asleep but it was time for his mid morning feeding. Ben got the honors. It is so much fun to watch Ben with his Son Josh. It is like he is so amazed at this little guy and how phenomenal his life is. Ben is a really neat guy.
Once he eats he is wide awake and very inquisitive about his surroundings. I’ll swear the kid is going to hate me as he gets older. I can just see him calling me Grandpa Flash and running from me and my bright lights 🙂
So after a few dozen shots I left the young family to enjoy their Sunday together and headed out to see what else I could find to shoot. This is a nice image but there is over an hour of post processing here. I had an off camera flash to Ben’s right and it was about eye level. With his hat on it left a terrible shadow on part of his face. I removed that shadow and I learned a lot by doing it but it was a powerful lot of work. 🙂
Each time we go to the kid’s house we go by this barn. The sun was at the right angle and I liked the way the snow surrounded it so I stopped and took a few shots. I like the way it turned out.
Then I went West out-of-town and happened by this little stream that I have seen from time to time on my bike rides. There was a small amount of water running today so I stopped on the bridge and snapped a few images. At first I liked the scene in color but the more I played with it I decided to retro it in black and white.
Well that’s enough for one day. It was a busy and very enjoyable Sunday. I have left you with one more image of Josh right after eating. I’m thinking this is one great looking kid. Thanks for stopping by.

Good stuff dude. The b/w photo’s turn out great, and the inside of that church looks amazing? Which one is it? Take care bud.

GReat pix today, Dave. I like the two close ups of Josh, especially the first one. Something about the way he is looking into the camera – like “what? You again!” ha. Only kidding…. love the black and white pix of the stream that came out really good.
