Happy Sunday!
Only one image for you today and no babble. This is what I saw last evening. God’s beautiful work.
Enjoy your day and be careful.
Happy Friday!
I have three images for you today. I got out of the office at a decent time last evening and there was some nice soft light to work with.
I drive by this pond everyday on the road home and for some reason last night it caught my eye. The sun was hitting it just right and with the gray sky I had to pull over and grab some images.
I have not been able to capture any harvest images this season, which is unusual for me. I was looking at past years and I always have some at this time of year.
I saw these two workhorses in the field their work not quite done and the soft yellow sun was bathing them in a wonderful light.
I ran out of light pretty quickly as there was a lot of clouds in the sky. This was my last opportunity so I saw this lone tree in the distance and decided to capture the image.
That’s it for today. Enjoy your day and be careful.
Happy Tuesday!
Just one image for today. I went out yesterday looking for something interesting to photograph. Either my head wasn’t in the right place or I wasn’t because I couldn’t find anything. I went to all my usual places but there was just not any activity.
So I photographed the lone tub boat working its way down river rather than come home with an empty card.
That’s it for today. Enjoy your day and be careful.
Happy Monday!
I have three images for you today. I shot these last Friday night at Asbury’s annual Halloween Parade. Ben had to work so Angie brought the kids over for dinner and then we went over to the parade route.
We had to wait for what seemed like a long time but finally saw all the flashing lights and heard the sirens (boy did we hear the sirens) from all the emergency vehicles. I think every emergency vehicle Asbury owns was in that parade. 🙂
Josh and Gabby made out pretty good from all the free candy the parade walkers threw and handed out. Austin didn’t understand all the fuss but he wanted to be in the middle of it.
That’s it for today. Enjoy your day and be careful.
Happy Sunday!
I have three images for you today. Last Friday I was invited by my good Friend Mike to play the beautiful General Golf Course at Eagle Ridge. This is one of the prettiest and more difficult courses in our area. It’s expensive as well but I got to play as a guest so it was a double treat for me.
Truth be told I would rather photograph a golf course then play it. So I took the Nikon D500 & 18 – 200 dx lens with me. I know that my playing partners do not want to wait for me to take images so I have to grab them when I can.
I forget the number on this hole but this is one of the most beautiful golf holes on the course in my opinion.
I do know that this is hole number 9 coming back to the club house. I wanted to take an image from the tee box as it was actually a better shot but there wasn’t time to do so.
The temperature was a very nice 58 – 60 degrees with just a little breeze to keep the bugs away. Puffy clouds with a wonderful blue sky. The leaves were changing and each fairway offered another photo opportunity. Unfortunately I couldn’t capture them all.
I liked this tree that was on the tee box of hole number 12. There was a slower group in front of us on this hole so I had time to photograph the tree.
It has been almost ten days since my last post. Things at work have been so hectic and busy that when I leave for home it’s getting dark or all I want to do is go home. So I’m hopeful that things will slow down a little and I can get back to a regular photography routine.
That’s it for today. Thanks for checking out the blog.
Enjoy your day and be careful.
Happy Friday!
Almost every morning when I come into town headed for work I come by the “Duck Pond” and for the last few days there has been a variety of wildlife there. I assume they spent the night at the pond as a respite before continuing their journey South. So I have three images for you today.
Even though I was running just a little later than normal when I saw these two Trumpeter Swans and their 4 signets I had to pull over and capture an image of them. The light was still fairly soft and the pond was calm so I ripped off 165 images trying to capture one that had all six of them in the same frame. They were not very cooperative.
It’s been a challenging week at work and I have not had the opportunity to do much photography. It may sound silly but when I stopped for that brief moment and photographed the Swans I felt a peace and enjoyment that I had not experienced all week.
As it is in life the Mother stayed pretty close to the four young ones while the Father led the group and many times got ahead of them, but always looking back to make sure there was no danger or anyone getting left behind. 🙂
I was really happy to see this bunch. I don’t think I’ve ever seen this large of a swan family before.
That’s it for today. Thanks for stopping by the blog. Enjoy your day and be careful.
Happy Sunday!
Today is all about our Grand Kids and I have four images for you.
Yesterday morning with the sun shinning and the temperature barely 41 degrees Jeanne and I went to the Dubuque Soccer Complex to watch Gabby’s game. The image above shows her reluctance to participate. I asked her if Grandpa could walk her out on the field and she agreed. 🙂
Ten minutes later this was her running around the field with her teammates and having fun. It just takes Gabby a little bit to warm up to things and once she does then she’s all in.
Austin wanted no part of the soccer game and found this metal bench much more interesting and enjoyable. An older child walked by us and he took his Binky out, waved and said “bye-bye.” I think he even blew him a kiss. 🙂
Not to leave Josh out he was playing with some other kids and I captured this image at one of the rare moments when he was standing alone. I always wonder what is going on in his mind when I see him with this look.
That’s it for today. I hope you enjoy your day and as always be careful.
Happy Thursday!
Wow, it’s been a whole week since I last posted. Unusual for me but I have had a full schedule and not much photography of late. Okay well none.
I went past the “Duck Pond” on my way home last evening and even though it meant shooting directly into the setting sun I couldn’t pass up a chance to photograph a Great White Egret.
That’s it for today.
Thanks for stopping by. Enjoy your day and be careful.
