Thank you for stopping by. I started thinking about the fact that there are many of you who read this blog regularly that might not have a good idea of what the “Duck Pond” is all about. So the above image is a landscape view of the marsh.
This is image is of the family as they climb out of the water to their home island. Note the father maintaining look out while mother shepherds the young ones back to the nest.
The final image is just a close up of the mother and the little goslings. I love this place. Often times if I don’t have a lunch appointment I’ll grab a Subway sandwich and drive out to the pond for lunch and just watch the nature.
I have images of the pond flooded, bone dry with cracks in the ground, and everything in between. It is enjoyable to just watch all the different species of wildlife inter act.
There are also a pair of Trumpeter Swans that live at the marsh for most of the year. They have nested for at least the last four years that I’m aware of, but have not produced any off spring. 😦
