Happy Saturday.  I was looking through my image file from a couple of weeks ago and found this series of images that I had intended to show much earlier.  Somehow they got over looked and I would have completely forgotten about them I had not been culling images from my hard drive. 🙂

I was on my way to one of our banks and I always try to take some of the lesser travel roads.  I drove by this farm and the mixture of colors of these birds was what first caught my eye.  I believe there is a mixture of Snow Geese and Chinese White Geese in these images.

It was a very warm day and when I first got out of the car all the geese were in the water.  However by the time I got my camera out of the bag and turned towards the pond you can see (in the first image) they have already exited the pond in favor of solid ground.

You can see from these images there was a good growth of high grass around the pond that allows for good cover when they want it.  In the image just below they have started to make good on their escape.  No running but for every slow step I took they would take ten and pretty quickly they were gone.

I am taking a week of vacation starting…  today 🙂  Unlike last year when we were up on the beautiful Leech Lake of Northern Minnesota we are going to do a “Staycation.”  Do little mini trips around the area looking for interesting things to shoot and eating out a lot, so it will sort of seem like a vacation.

There are a ton of things I need to do around the house including cleaning my office, but then it wouldn’t be a vacation would it?  Plus if my office was uncluttered and clean I wouldn’t feel comfortable in it.  🙂
