Happy Monday. This is a Ford Mystique or at least it used to be. Once this big car crusher got it in its grip it just became a very large paperweight. My friend Megan who works for our organization in the IT department asked me last Friday, if I would stop down and take some images of her parent’s business Nugent Auto Sales. They were hosting a state-wide conference of the Iowa Auto Recyclers Association with over 200 members in attendance.
This is a butt shot of the Ford Mystique. 🙂 So this IAR conference lasted the whole weekend and there was entertainment, food and beverages and it was all located at the Nugent’s business at 115 South Clark Street Maquoketa, Iowa. They had lined up salvage cars completely around the block to cordon off the area where the event was going to be held. While I was there Megan gave me a tour of the operation and I must say it is impressive. Very little of the salvage cars goes to waste. They have a huge inventory of used parts and panels.  They also have a pretty good inventory of re-builders. Check out their website Nugent Auto Sales.
This is my friend Megan. One of the attendees to the conference brought their new auto crusher to the event. They let Megan crush the first car. She did the whole operation from picking the car up off the street with the small crane to making it the nice square box that you see in the first image. She said it was sooooo much fun. 🙂
That’s it for today. I’m actually running on time today. But not to worry, I’ll find something to do that will make me late as usual. Thanks for stopping by and be careful.

I wish you were closer. I spent good money for a photographer for Alex’s senior pictures and was only mildly pleased. It is great to be able to share your family pictures. I love it! I also enjoyed your turtle story last week–amazing teamwork. Around here, someone would have probably just run over the turtle and not looked back.

Hi Debbie
Thank you for your kind words. I would have done it for free. We’re working on some travel plans but may be able to stop in KC this Summer and see you and Terry. More when we get the dates finalized. Thank you again for following the blog.
