Happy Saturday. It is rare for me to post a blog on Saturday and even more rare to post one this late in the day. Having said that here is a shot recount of my first real bike ride in more than three years. One of the fun things about riding the bike is that I can take my little point and shoot camera with me and get some images that I normally wouldn’t get. It was a spectacular day to ride of do about anything. The temperature was a mild 77 degrees with very little wind.
Ride Details: Actual ride time 1:37:35. Total distance covered 18. 1 miles. Average speed 11.1 mph (not too bad for first time out.) Highest speed attained 31.1 mph. Two bottles of water consumed and three small rest breaks taken.
The bike was great! I’m going to really enjoy this bike. All the gears functioned well with no skipping of gears as I have experienced on other bikes I have owned. It handles the hills really good and feels solid under me. Fun ride today as I did the Mt Carmel Spin. I don’t really like riding the city streets because of all the traffic but it was tolerable today.
Hope you have a great weekend. We’re off to have a photo shoot and dinner with some great friends. Hope to have some images of that for you tomorrow. Thanks for checking out the blog on this super Saturday, assuming that is if you indeed did check it out. Enjoy your day and be careful.
