We had a wonderful afternoon and evening with our good friends Steve and Becki Kent on their beautiful farm the Lazy K. It was a perfect day to visit this tranquil setting. Lots of trees, prairie grass, a pond and wild life in abundance. We even had a young white tail deer stop by for a visit while we were enjoying dessert on the screened in deck.
I made a number of images yesterday although only about a quarter that I normally take when we visit the farm. They have a lot of metal art work that adorns their home and grounds. I took some images of a few of them and I’ll share those with you later in the week. Today is about bugs. I am always amazed when I take the time to stop and look at just some of the insect world.
Steve and I took a tour of one of the corn fields on his “gator” and the insect world is alive and well. I didn’t have the opportunity to photograph much of it as I had to wrong lens for that type of work but it is very interesting to watch the workings of all the insects and how they intertwine with one another.
I followed this butter fly for 7 or 8 minutes trying to capture his wings open. he was not cooperative one bit. This was really the only usable image I managed to get and it really sucks (but I needed it to fill out the blog.) 🙂
An evening with great friends, wonderful food, stimulating conversation and a few glasses of wine. Doesn’t get much better than that I think. Thanks for stopping by. Enjoy your Sunday, looks like another good one and be careful.

I love your first photo….it is awesome detail of the wings. Made my day!
