I was listening to the weather report this morning as they detailed this huge storm that is headed our way and I thought this would be a good time to process the river shots I did Saturday.
I don’t know if these are the same fishermen that were on the river a couple of weeks ago when I was looking for Eagles but I like this image with the small boat framed up against the structure in the background.
Jeanne and I were going to the river Saturday and we went by the Dubuque Art Gallery where they still have “The American Farmer.” (I’m not sure if that is the proper name) and Jeanne remarked that she had not seen it in person.
So I took another set of images while we were there. The first time I shot it, there were icicles hanging all over the statutes and I had to “clone” them out. No icicles this time and I tried a new more “edgy” look with this one. I like the way it turned out.
Be safe out there and mind the conditions. As always thank you for stopping by. I know you have other things to do so I am grateful.

Hi Dave,
I like to browse through your images and read your blog. Because we share “common ground” for part of our photography it is interesting to see how you approach things. It gives me new ideas about locations and view points in the Dubuque area.
You are so much better than me by posting in your blog almost every day. Since English is not my native language it is always a challenge to write a new post. It takes me probably ten times longer than anybody else, but I enjoy writing about photography as much as you do.
I really like the mood of the picture with the fishermen above. Was that taken with your D300s?
Regards, Andreas
