Happy Monday.  Saturday we celebrated (a couple of days early) Joshua’s first birthday.  Jeanne and I were the first to arrive and the image above was what greeted us.  Big boy drinking on his own as if no big deal.

Angie and Ben had family and some friends over to have a lunch and celebrate Josh’s first birthday.  Of course his present pile was taller than him but as time passed he did become a little more interested in it and started to explore the packages.

It was so funny when Angie put him in his high chair and we all started to sing Happy Birthday.  He would look around the room at each of us with this shocked look on his face as if to say “what the heck are you guys doing?”

Angie had made Josh a cake.  She told us what all was in it but I don’t remember all the ingredients.  The guests at the party ate chocolate cupcakes and Josh had the cake all to himself.

After a period of time working on the cake his expression kind of says it all.  Okay I’m done with all this.  Time for a nap.  He did eat some of the cake but was way more interested in the frosting.

It was a fun time with family and friends.  Hard to believe that just a year ago this little bundle of joy came into our lives.
