What a fun day I had yesterday. I shot 518 images throughout the day and any day I can do that is a good day. It all began at one of our banks. They are running a billboard campaign and needed some images of employees to put on the billboards.
So I got to shoot six of our employees for that project. They turned out pretty good so that was an enjoyable project.
The image above was taken about 5:35 pm at the Duck Pond. My friend Andreas had said there were several Great Egrets (Ardea alba) at Green Island on Sunday and he got some magnificent shots of them. I was getting the tripod set up to shoot some of the Great Egrets that were visiting the Duck Pond when I, just for fun, took this test shot of the moon. I was pleased with the image.
On the way to the bank yesterday morning for the photo shoot as I drove by the Duck Pond ( 70 mph) I saw what looked like several Great Egrets. Since I didn’t have the time to stop and shoot them I lamented that I would miss another opportunity at capturing them.
I had meetings through the lunch period so not noon shoot and on the way home at 5:30 pm much to my delight they were still there.
I couldn’t stay too long at the pond as we were having Angie, Ben and Josh over for birthday cake and ice cream. I shot about 400 images at the pond before leaving. I could have stayed there until dark.
It was fun to watch the Great Egrets interact with the geese and the three swans. While I was there a flock of geese landed near one of the islands where there are a lot of nesting geese. That stirred up a little confrontation and there was a lot of honking and flapping of wings for awhile.
The funny thing is that I stood there and watched the chaos and never thought to shoot any images of it. I was more interested in the confrontation. 🙂
More from the Duck Pond. I have 400 images of Great Egrets, so I ‘ve got to show at least a few more. 🙂
We had a good time with the kids celebrating Angie’s birthday. It ended all too quick and then they had to leave to get Joshua to bed. Fun day with lots of camera time.
Thanks for stopping by. Enjoy your Tuesday and be careful.
