This is the last day for wildlife images (at least for a day or two.) The image above is for my good friend Betty, who loves Canadian Geese. The Great Egret walked right by this pair and they paid no attention to each other.
I took (what a friend of mine calls) a metal health day yesterday. My stomach was a little unsettled and I felt a little achy so I looked at my calendar and saw I had no pressing appointments. So one PTO day used up but I’m ready to rock and roll today. My view is that from time to time you need those little mini vacations. At least I do. 🙂

This is the female resident swan that nests at the Duck Pond every year. Every year that I can remember they have failed to produce a cygnet. I’ll continue to check the nest but my guess is that this year will be the same. One of my friends at the Interpretive Center believes that the male swan has some issues. They always blame it on the guy. 🙂
Finally I leave you with this image of the Great Egret having some dinner. I watched him (/her) walk for a couple hundred yards and every once in a while (like a flash) his head would go under water and then just as fast come out. I couldn’t see what he was doing. As I was processing the images last night I saw that he had a small minnow in his mouth.
So I culled 105 images from a total of 885. I hate deleting images but even at that, what am I ever going to do with 105 images of Great Egrets? Remember you can click on the image to see a larger version of it.
That’s it for today. Thank you for stopping by and be careful.

Ohhhhh, you made my day. That is interesting that the geese tolerated the egret that close. Quite a contrast. Odd that the egrets can’t produce a baby. Very curious.
