A real treat yesterday. I got to play in the Maquoketa Kiwanis’ Charity Golf Event held at the Maquoketa Golf and Country Club. The golf course is a really fun 9 hole course that is very well maintained. For a 9 hole course it is one of the best I have played. This is the type of golf I play anymore. Since I no longer practice or play on a regular basis, what little golf skills I had have deteriorated to the point of non-existence. 🙂 Best shot golf is non-threatening and much less stressful.
It is a best shot event with lots of games on many of the holes (to help raise money.) There are five players per teams and two teams per hole. So there is a lot of standing around, chatting, drinking, checking emails, and then you get to hit the ball and then back to the other stuff. Still even if you have a bad shot or a bunch of them, once in a while you will sink a putt for the team and always enjoy the comradely.
One of the guys in our group (on the other team) owns the Ford Dealership in Maquoketa. A very nice and gracious individual. His dealership sponsored a hole-in-one contest for a new Ford Mustang. He had cars parked all around the golf course at different tee boxes. So since there was a lot of standing around and waiting on the tee box, I took the opportunity to practice my auto photography.
There were some beautiful cars at the golf course and I shot several of them. The weather was perfect. I love playing in this event and seeing so many people I enjoy. Lots of fun yesterday but back at it today. I’m teaching a class this afternoon so I have to get myself and my stuff together. 🙂
Thanks for stopping by. Enjoy your hump day Wednesday and be careful.
