One of the best Saturdays in recent memory yesterday. First of all it was a perfect day weather wise. Sunny, cool, and a slight breeze with the temperature around the mid 60s. In my book it doesn’t get any better than that. Jeanne and I have meant to get down to the Farmers’ Market all summer. I don’t know why we are so hesitant about going because it is a treasure trove of sights, sounds, smells, colors, and interesting people. I always come away with some wonderful images.
I love capturing images of people. Whether it be in a formal portrait setting or candid shots. It really doesn’t matter to me. I’ve taken a lot of lessons on street photography but I haven’t had much practice. I saw a hundred shots yesterday I wanted to take but then again I don’t want to upset anyone or ruin anyone’s day. I did capture some interesting images of interesting people but like a poor fisherman, “The ones that got away, oh my.” 🙂
Jeanne was looking at things for supper and I was looking for things to capture images of so our focus was not always congruent with each others. None the less she did point out some shots worthy of taking.
After Farmers’ Market we stopped over to see Angie and the kids as Ben was working and she wanted some company. I’m starting to build a relationship with Gabby now. She actually smiles when I come into her view. Not nearly as much as she does when she sees Jeanne or Angie, but I’ll take what I can get. I held her for a very long time yesterday and had no issues. 🙂
Later in the afternoon (after a nice lunch and wonderful nap) Angie and the kids came over and we went to playground at the nearby elementary school. Josh is such a social young boy. He asked several other kids (all older than him) if they wanted to play but none of them were interested. So he would play with Grandma until another group of kids would come by.
The playground is a magnet for young children and they come in, play hard and then leave. Many parents bring their children over to play and it is a nice addition to the neighborhood.
Finished the day off with a nice dinner on the grill and a black raspberry pie (with ice cream of course) that Jeanne bought from an Amish food stand at the market. WOW was it great!!
Our neighbors always host a big football party when the Hawks play the Cyclones. It’s been fun watching them prepare for the game this week and they had a nice turn out. They do a lot of grilling and I could tell when the Hawks scored by the cheers. They are great neighbors and we enjoy having them in the neighborhood.
That’s it for today. I hope you enjoy your day. Thanks for stopping by. More from the Farmers’ Market as the week unfolds. Be careful.
