Just enough time to post one image from our trip. This is pretty much how it came out of the camera. I decreased the highlights a bit to reveal more detail in the water and added a little sharpening and vibrancy. It was a beautiful 5 to 7 minutes watching the sun reflect off the water.

All three of these images were captured our first evening at the camp. We got there about 4:00 p.m. as you cannot check in until after 3:00 p.m. It is a rustic place run by wonderful friendly people. Although this was our first time there most of the people I met during the week had been coming to the camp for years. They all knew each other very well and spent many nights at the lodge exchanging stories and memories.
While I was photographing the sunset this fishing boat was returning to the camp. I have no idea if they caught anything but I thought it was a good capture against setting sun.
I still love to photograph gulls and I noticed this guy sailing by and I hit the shutter while trying to catch up to him. By the time I caught up with him (with the focus point) he was too far away. It was only in post processing that I thought it was worthy of showing you.

I have three images for you today. We are back home safe and reasonably sound. It was a fun week with the whole family. Nine people in one cabin with one and a half bathrooms. It all worked and I think everyone had a great time. We didn’t really catch many fish but the time we had together was priceless so the fish didn’t really matter. We caught enough for three nice meals.
Every night Mark and Julia would build a pit fire and we all would sit around it and watch the sunset, which by the way is an hour later than it is at home. I’m sure most of you knew that but it was news to me. 🙂
Two nights we roasted marshmallows and had S’mores! Jeanne even let me have one.
We had a bad thunderstorm on our last night and when it finally passed I went out side to check on the potential for a sunset. This was the best I could get.
I finally gave up when it looked like a sunset was not going to materialize and went to bed. I later learned that in fact the clouds dissipated enough to have a great sunset. My loss but I was tired, full of fish and wine. 🙂
I have a few hundred images from the trip that I will share if you’re interested as the days ahead unfold.

The day started off perfect for catching fish but it didn’t last long. The wind died down and the lake became placid and that is not good for fishing. I caught one Northern Pike (enough for dinner) but it was a long day with no strikes.
I do however, have three images for you today.
By the time the sun was setting the sky was gray with clouds and I couldn’t see the sun. So for the first time this week I don’t have a true sunset image for you
This was the best I could do with what I had to work with. 🙂

I have three images for you today. Another day and another sunset. 🙂
Went out yesterday morning with high expectations. Over cast sky and rough water should have made of some good fishing but alas it did not. Captured this image of a pair of loons so the trip was worthwhile.
This is the resort we are staying at. It has a perfect view of the lake and just happens to face West where the sun goes down.
I thought because of the over cast skies earlier in the day I wouldn’t be able to get a sunset image but it all worked out.

I found this guy while I was on a short walk yesterday. He was kind enough to hold still for me long enough to capture his image.
I liked the way the spray covers the driver of the boat. It was a wonderful day yesterday weather wise. High 70s with a gentle breeze.
So far this is my favorite sunset (that I’ve posted.) I have a lot of them and will share them in the coming days. WiFi is a real problem here so it takes for ever to upload images and sometimes you lose the signal in the middle of an upload. 😦

I have three images today. I know, it is another sunset but what else can I do but capture God’s beautiful work?
This large cloud formation would eventually turn into a small thunder-storm. We didn’t get a lot of rain but enough to cool things down a little.
Final view of the sun before it fades below the horizon. I love to watch sunsets in case you couldn’t tell. 🙂

Never, since I stated this blog seven years ago have I gone so long without a post. It has been 12 days since I held a camera in my hand and it has been an unhappy time for me.
That time has passed and the camera is once again active and in my hand. Expect more image from me in the coming days.
Part of the lull has been a creative block and part of it has been a stressful work load. Regardless, it feels good to once again to have the camera to my eye and the shutter banging away.
I hope you are still interested in my work and I beg your forgiveness for my lack of effort over these last few days.

Golf can be an exasperating game for sure. I use to love to play golf and would schedule a lot of my life around golf. However as my skills (and they weren’t that good) began to wane the game became less and less enjoyable for me.
I thoroughly enjoy the comrade of the game and its rich history but the game itself has lost much of its luster for me. Today I would much rather photograph a golf course than play it.
So yesterday I was invited to play golf with three great individuals at a very nice golf course and the weather although quite humid was wonderful for the any outdoor sport. I always have a camera with me but the opportunity to make photographs was limited by the pace of play.
However as I was walking toward this green the sight it offered was too good to pass up so I went back to the golf cart and retrieved my camera for a couple of fast images. This was not the only scene worthy of an image but it was the only one that I really had time to make.
