Happy Thursday!
I have only one image for you today. Another capture of the sunset last week.
Nothing else on my mind.
Enjoy your day and be careful.
Happy Friday!
Seems like forever since I last had an image to show you. Only been five days but that’s a long time for me. The good news is that as I left work yesterday at 5:05 p.m. there was enough light to make this image. 🙂
I’m heading out today with my long lens hoping to make some images of eagles. If nothing else it will feel good just to have a camera in my hand again photographing anything.
That’s it for today. Thanks for sticking with me. Enjoy your Friday and be careful.
When did Winter arrive? I guess yesterday. Anyway last night I drove by the duck pond and the swans were close to the road and didn’t seem to mind me being there. The light wasn’t very good so I had to push the ISO up to 800. I could still only get 1/200 of a second on my shutter speed at f8.0 but that seemed to work well enough to capture a couple of images of the youngsters.
Not a particularly great shot but I wanted to capture the entire family just to show that they all seem to be doing well. The temperature was about 37 degrees according to the car thermometer. I suspect that was right as I could see my breath. I saw no machinery in the fields on my way home last night and I’m not sure I could have made an image of them anyway as it was very cloudy and that made it too dark.
Finally I’ll leave you with one of the last shots I took Monday evening of the sunset. You remember I told you I hung around for about 15 minutes and the sunset just kept getting better with every passing minute. It’s hard for me to pick my favorite, as they are really so different. I have a couple more that I may show you one of these days when the memories of the last two images have faded away.
Thanks for checking in. Enjoy your mid-week hump day and be careful.
I had an early morning meeting yesterday in Cedar Rapids that had me leaving the house at sunrise. It reinforces the fact that there are really only two times during the day when you should take landscape images. In the early morning light of sunrise and with the setting sun.
I couldn’t pass up this wagon sitting in an empty field being bathed in the warm orange light of the rising sun. For about 30 minutes of my drive ordinary things looked extraordinary in the beautiful light of the rising sun. I could have easily shot a half-dozen or more landscapes simply because the light was so beautiful. It reminded me that I have to get out and on the road much earlier than I do now because of the great photo opportunities.
It is also why I love October and early November because of the setting sun light as I’m leaving work. The light is so soft, warm and orange, which makes everything look better.
Enjoy your Friday. Thanks for stopping by the blog and be careful.
