Happy Monday. ~ 305
I have some more bird images for you from Saturday’s shoot with Andreas. This little guy is a Ruby Throated Humming Bird approaching the feeder. I never did get what I would call any great images of the humming-birds so this is as close as I got. Photography like any other complex thing is a journey and you learn by doing. I rarely pull out my camera that I do not learn a valuable lesson for the future.
Not much shooting yesterday. I did yard maintenance most of the morning and continued my fight with the big stump that was left over from my earlier bush fight. I dug on it for an hour and it was still rock solid when I quit.
After lunch (ill-advised) I decided to install the new 3D gimbal on the Phantom 2. Ill-advised because I knew I had a limited amount of time to work on it and it was a multiple step process that consisted of taking the Phantom apart and doing some rewiring, cutting a hole (well actually enlarging an existing hole) in the belly of the Phantom and then installing the new gimbal. Got it all done in the time allowed and took it for a quick spin to test the results. It didn’t work the way it is supposed to, but by then of course I didn’t have time to figure out what I did wrong and try to correct it.
I believe the bird above is a common American Goldfinch. I love to capture images of birds, I’m just not very good at knowing their names. 🙂
Angie, Ben and the kids came over for Morale Mushrooms and burgers last evening. We had a lot of fun playing with Josh and Gabby, while catching up with Angie and Ben about their recent vacation. I did shoot a few images of Josh and Gabby and I’ll show those later in the week.
There was no time to practice with the new Tamron 150 – 600 lens, so I’m anxious to try that out. Maybe at the Duck Pond on the way home this evening as I have a lunch meeting today.
Last image is I believe a Downy Woodpecker. Correct me if I’m wrong.
That’s it for today. Hope you enjoy your Monday (it’s here all day.) Thanks for stopping by the blog and be careful.
