Happy Birthday to my Son Mark. 24 years ago you came into our lives and made them exponentially better. I am very proud of all that you have accomplished and the man you have become.
Since I started this blog in 2010 and have made over 1,100 posts and I have never gone a week without posting something until now. I have not had any images to post, no opportunity to take any images and no time to collect my thoughts to post a blog. Part of that is my fault and some of it has been out of my control. But I have a series of images for you today from the big snow of Sunday.
My main project Saturday was to get my new weather station installed and put outside. Jeanne did a quick one day trip to Ames to spend some time with her Mother so I was without my trusty assistant. Naturally for everything I did right I did it wrong two other times. By the end of the day it was installed and calibrated.
I had a list of 8 things I wanted to accomplish on Saturday and the weather station was the only one that got done. Yesterday during the peak of the storm I photographed the user interface. As you can see it gives a lot of information and although it is still in the learning phase it is forecasting snow. It makes its forecast by the elements it measures and then through a series of algorithms it makes a prediction.
I was delighted to see that we have some finches on the bird feeder yesterday. There was too much snow for the camera to focus on the birds. I tried manual focus but there was just so much snow they didn’t come out right. We had some gold finches and some purple finches. I’m not sure that is the right name for them but I’ll call them that for now.
That’s all I have for you today. Drive safely, be careful and stay warm.
