The beauty of a well manicured golf course is deceptively enticing. It promises a wonderful journey with nature, to be outdoors and to bask in the fragrances and sights of flora and fauna. Truth be told the frustration and pain that await the unsuspecting golfer is unfathomable. How something so pristine and peaceful can elicit such profanity is at times unimaginable.
Let’s just say the clubs are in the lower level storage area of our home and there they shall remain (until at least next year) when perhaps all the pain and frustration have evaporated from memory. 🙂
The comradely and fellowship with friends and colleagues is enriching to be sure, but the pain, oh the pain overshadows such an enriching experience.
Enjoy your day. Thanks for stopping by the blog and be careful.
Happy Thursday! ~ 246
A rare view of me in front of the camera instead of behind it. I trusted my camera to a total stranger (to me) and asked him to take a shot of my great friends. We’ve tried to get the four of us together for a round of golf for two years now and because of the persistence of the guy on the left (Jake) it finally happened yesterday.
We played at Springbrook Country Club in DeWitt, Iowa. The guy on the right (Steve) is a member there and he graciously invited us to play with him. Springbrook is a beautiful old course with many tall (and mean) trees lining most of the fairways. I first played this course 14 years ago. I had less weight, a much better swing and game, and it was only a 9 hole course. Today it is a beautiful 18 hole golf course that is fun to play. As you can see I had a lot of enjoyment photographing as well.
To be totally honest, I could have ridden along and shot a couple of hundred images and been very happy. It’s such a troubling thing to take something beautiful and make it so nasty to an individual. 🙂
Nothing profound to pontificate on this morning. I am as usual running late so I’ve got to scoot.
Hope you enjoy your day. Thanks for stopping by and be careful.
