Happy Tuesday. Looks like another nice day in the 70s. I was looking back on my 365 project from last year and the temperature was in the 100 degree range for several days. In fact I took a picture of the bank thermometer registering 102 degrees. I really enjoy these cooler temperatures.
I stopped at the Duck Pond on the way home last night to check on the Cygnets. I was a little concerned because on my way to work I caught a glimpse of them and I could only see one. The water at the Duck Pond is dropping again, which means they are soon going to be easy prey to predators. My guess is the parents can do a pretty good job of protecting them. The image above is a cropped shot just to get a better view of the children. I tried to take the South end of the North bound swan out of the image but for some reason I couldn’t make it look right so after spending 15 minutes on it I decided to go with what I had. 🙂
I’m not sure if the Mother or Father was leading the parade but all of a sudden the lead swan stopped to grab something from the bottom and the little Cygnet crashed into her rear end. There was a lot of confusion and then they finally got untangled and back in line. I’ll keep you updated on their progress through the season. Hope they make it.
Thanks for stopping by. Enjoy your day and be careful.
