Happy Thursday!
One day closer to the weekend. The last of my Galena images from Saturday past. As I said in an earlier post, I just didn’t find all that much to shoot. It was the lowest amount of images I’ve taken since going to Galena. Perhaps I was uninspired.
I had to go to the dentist yesterday afternoon (as a work in) to have a chipped tooth repaired. My Dad was 81 when he passed and didn’t have one cavity. I only have two and have been told by several dentists over the years what amazing teeth I have, but of late things seem to be going in the wrong direction. Chipped teeth (2), cavities (2), crown (1). Apparently all the genetic information didn’t get completely passed. 😦
I met a very interesting person yesterday in a meeting by the name of Mary Swander. She is a professor of English at Iowa State University. She has authored several books, short stories, screen plays, poetry, and is Iowa’s Poet Laureate. Amazing lady who has written a play entitled “Map of My Kingdom”, a play about transitioning the family farm, business, wealth, etc., and the challenges to family harmony. It is a one person, one hour production and tackles the difficulties families go through with the planning of transition.
I am neither cultured nor have any resources to transfer so I’m not sure why I was at the meeting but I must tell you it was one of the most fascinating and enjoyable hours I have spent in recent memory. I thoroughly enjoyed listening to Mary speak of her life, her work, and her play.
That’s it for today. Thanks for stopping by the blog. Enjoy your day and be careful.
